Tata Cara Shalat Istikharah
Tata cara shalat istikharah sama seperti shalat sunnah dua rakaat biasa, diawali niat, takbiratul ihram, membaca Al-Fatihah dan surat pendek (sunnahnya Al-Kafirun di rakaat pertama, Al-Ikhlas di rakaat kedua), ruku', i'tidal, sujud, lalu berdiri lagi untuk rakaat kedua hingga salam, dilanjutkan dengan doa khusus istikharah setelah salam untuk memohon petunjuk pilihan yang terbaik.
Waktu terbaik adalah sepertiga malam terakhir, di luar waktu terlarang shalat (setelah Subuh hingga terbit, dan setelah Ashar hingga terbenam).
Tata Cara Shalat Istikharah
Niat: Ucapkan niat dalam hati, contoh: "Ushallî sunnatal istikhârati rak'ataini lillâhi ta'âlâ." (Aku berniat shalat sunnah istikharah dua rakaat karena Allah Ta'ala).
Takbiratul Ihram: Mengucap "Allahu Akbar" sambil mengangkat tangan.
Rakaat Pertama:
Membaca doa iftitah (jika biasa).
Membaca Surat Al-Fatihah.
Membaca surat pendek, diutamakan Surat Al-Kafirun.
Lanjutkan gerakan shalat seperti biasa (Ruku', I'tidal, Sujud, Duduk di antara dua sujud, Sujud kedua) dengan tumakninah.
Rakaat Kedua:
Berdiri kembali (takbiratul ihram).
Membaca Surat Al-Fatihah.
Membaca surat pendek, diutamakan Surat Al-Ikhlas.
Lanjutkan gerakan shalat seperti biasa (Ruku', I'tidal, Sujud, Duduk di antara dua sujud, Sujud kedua).
Tahiyat Akhir dan Salam: Duduk tahiyat akhir, membaca tasyahud, lalu salam.
Doa Istikharah: Setelah salam, panjatkan doa istikharah (contoh doa lengkap ada di Yufid TV, YouTube) untuk memohon petunjuk terkait urusan yang sedang dihadapi, contoh: Allahumma inni astakhii-ruka bi 'ilmika....
Waktu dan Adab
Waktu: Kapan saja di luar waktu terlarang (setelah Subuh hingga matahari terbit, dan setelah Ashar hingga terbenam), namun dianjurkan sepertiga malam terakhir.
Adab: Lakukan dengan khusyuk, mempersiapkan diri dengan wudhu, dan mencari tempat yang tenang.
